Ezra Weston Loomis Pound (Hailey, Idaho, Estados Unidos, 30 de octubre de 1885 – Venecia, Italia, 1 de noviembre de 1972), poeta, ensayista, músico y crítico estadounidense perteneciente a la Lost Generation —«Generación perdida»— que predicó fogosamente el rescate de la poesía antigua para ponerla al servicio de una concepción moderna, conceptual y al mismo tiempo fragmentaria.Su obra monumental, los Cantos, o Cantares, le llevó gran parte de su vida. El crítico Hugh Kenner dijo tras encontrarse con Pound: «He tomado de repente conciencia de que estaba en el centro del modernismo».Pound fue un ferviente seguidor de Benito Mussolini y fue criticado por su antisemitismo. Su compromiso con Mussolini le significó ser condenado en 1945.Contenido
